Cingular And Verizon Class Action Suits

Class action suits in the cell phone market.

Two new class action law suits have risen against Cingular and Verizon. In Cingular’s case, consumers are angry with the merger with AT&T, that is, users are tired of using AT&T’s legacy network systems and thereby being forced to incur more costs to upgrade to Cingular’s superior network systems. However, Cingular had promised AT&T users that they would enjoy their better systems free of charge in 2004. Now, a class action law suit has risen because Cingular is charging users a premium for the upgrade.

Verizon is not better. Twice in a row, we didn't receive a rebate for "Buy one phone, get another one free". The first time, we just never received a rebate check; the second time Verizon needed additional information. When we provided the additional information the offer was no longer valid. Verizon is a greedy and corrupt organization. This company deserves all the class action lawsuits.

Finally cancelled my Cingular service today. My phone service under ATT was like a second land-line, since the Cingular merger, it's been virtually unusable inside my home. Now, to add insult to injury, they've added a $5 "TDMA/Analog network charge" for maintaining a service which they have degraded.
I was a loyal customer for five years–paying my bills like clockwork–and would not recommend Cingular, either as a cell service or as an investment.

I have a client who had a cingular phone, paid to a zero balance, the phone gets stolen, she reports this to cingular. She kept getting billing and noone would listen...she finally gives up tryin to explain.....she is then into the collection game and has $ 1000.00 negative on her credit bureaus.....We have tried to speak to many at cingular....and the collection agency AFNI but to date have no resolve to this issue....she is in the process of applying for a mortgage....
