Vioxx And Easy Money
I think the jury was swayed more by the internal Merck memos than the facts of the case.
The link will take you to Health24.com and that will give you the only numbers I could find regarding any increased cardiac risk due to Vioxx. Specifically, in a clinical trial of 4000 people, there was a .5% risk of a cardiac event (e.g., heart attack). However, there was a 14.6% risk of a cardiovascular problem (i.e., anything short of a heart attack, etc.)
