Adsense And Keywords

An interesting look at the impact of Google Adsense on website content.

This is where the competition change comes in. The competition used to be other lawyers looking for people with mesothelioma. Now, the search engine results pages are filled with these mesothelioma sites designed solely to get Adsense clicks. Technically, this is against the Adsense Terms of Service, but Google does very little to police it. After all, every click brings more money to Google!

Personal Injury Lawyer

Good advice here on when to consider a personal injury lawyer.

If you’ve been injured in an accident, then you may be able to recover compensation. Remember that you must take legal advice from a quality personal injury lawyer as soon as possible after your accident to ensure that you receive the compensation you deserve. Get legal help for your injuries by finding an injury lawyer that has experience in your claim area and is confident they can help you.

Drunk Driving Statistics

Statistics from a lawyer who would know.

You know it’s a problem to drink and drive. Drinking and driving is the most frequently committed crime. 115 people a day die from car accidents. Of that, 47 had been drinking. Most of the accidents occur between midnight and 3 am. 43% of the fatal accidents of drunk drivers happen on the weekend. Holidays always play an important role, too. New Year’s Day is number one at 67%. Fortunately, cars are getting safer and the statistics are slowing from early 1960’s levels.

Motorola E815 Launched

I thought this was not a very smart class action suit.

It’s not clear if the Motorola E815 will suffer the same Bluetooth problems that the V710 did. The limitation of Bluetooth in the V710 even led to a class action law suit.

Driving And Cell Phones

Not much of a surprise here, but laws won't help as much as a change in attitude about cell phones and driving.

Hands-free mobile phones offer no protection against car accidents, according to world-first Australian research that plotted the call records of drivers involved in crashes.

Jury Selection Begins In Vioxx Case

Even with a jury, it will take years to settle the Vioxx case.

Merck & Co. has vowed to defend itself against each of more than 3,800 pending state and federal lawsuits alleging it knew its popular painkiller, Vioxx, could be dangerous long before the company voluntarily pulled it from the market last year.

The New Jersey drug maker’s first chance to do so begins with jury selection Monday in a small-town Texas courtroom 30 miles south of Houston.

Liars, Damned Liars, Politicians, Businessmen

Click through for interesting perspective on business and government.

Is it only me, or does anyone else see the connection between that kind of brazen lying to the public, and things like this:

Merck & Co. researchers privately sought to reformulate Vioxx in 2000 to reduce its cardiovascular side effects, even as the drug maker was publicly playing down a study that highlighted the pain relief medication's potential heart attack risk, an internal company document shows.

Vioxx In Canada?

Those Canadians are always a step ahead.

In a bizarre development, a panel of Canadian expert is recommending that Vioxx, the drug that is estimated to have killed as many as 50,000 Americans and caused 140,000 injuries in the US, be allowed back on the market. Merck voluntarily recalled the drug in September last year after a study showed that it increased the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Since then, Merck is being sued by tens of thousands of Vioxx victims and States of Texas and New York have filed lawsuits for fraud.

Merck Seeks Trial Delay

No big surprise in the Vioxx proceedings.

As was feared by many Vioxx victims, Merck is adopting delaying tactics in Vioxx lawsuits. The first of the cases to go to trial next week is that of Carol Ernst, whos husband Robert Ernst, reportedly died after taking Vioxx.
